Daylight Savings - You Suck
Ok, so it is the second night of daylight savings time and bedtime is still a bear. I expect it will be this way for another week if not more. To make matters worse, Andrew is working late so I had to deal w/ both kids' baths and bedtimes on my own. It was a very stressfull evening indeed and now I'm trying to decompress with a glass of merlot. Mmmmm... (It goes quite well w/ my frosted mini wheat dinner). So bath time wasn't too bad. Lia and Emma seem to enjoy bathing together. It is fun to watch. I'm surprised Emma doesn't throw a fit since I barely put any water in the tub. Lia fell over tonight and banged her head on the side of the tub. She did the same thing after I took her out. She just gets so excited and can't hold still!! What a cute little tub-o-baby-fat. I just love her cute little roles and jiggles. So I put Lia to bed while Emma was watching tv on our bed. Lia fell asleep within 10 minutes, but I let Emma finish watching her Dora episode before I made her turn off the tv (mistake #1). Once we were in Emma's room, she threw a fit because she "didn't like mommy very much" and just wanted her daddy to put her to bed. So instead of reading to her right away I let her do some puzzles (mistake #2). So by the time I got her into bed to read I heard Lia SCREAMING. I went in and gave her her pacifier and ran back into Emma's room to try to do an abbreviated bed time. Long story short, Lia screamed for about 20 minutes and by the time I got to her she was so upset it took 15 minutes for her breathing to return to normal from the "gasp gasp scream" breathing she was doing. I felt awful! Now I know why I haven't let Lia cry-it-out yet. I just don't think I will be able to do it with her. Her sheets were soaked from her tears! Oh, so by the time Lia was finally back to sleep I went into my room and what do I hear? "Mommy? Mommy?". Emma needed me to go back into her room the "talk" more. Ugh....does it get easier?!! :)
